Container Plant Room

This bespoke new build was made as a container plant room. It houses a boiler and related installations, at new building development in Basingstoke. The entire unit was made using 1.66mm thick corrugated steel and was built 24ft long. New build containers allow us to to build to specific sizes, designs and thickness that standard shipping shipping containers can’t provide. For example, our garage containers are made to a width of 10ft, to allow room to park up and exit a car without a struggle. The additional thickness of steel increases strength and security to provide additional peace of mind if you’re storing anything valuable.

The container plant room was fitted with both standard louvered vents and louvered doors to keep the temperature within the container cool. The unit was further ply lined and insulated to eliminate the risk of condensation, and we created the necessary apertures in the walls, roof and floor to enable the customer to fit the pipework and boiler equipment once the unit was installed on site.

Lastly, steel batons were welded to the exterior of the container for the customer to fit their own cladding once the unit was in situ. In addition to the main unit, a secondary unit to a similar specification was ordered, but 30ft in length, to be sent to a different building development in Hampshire.

We frequently convert shipping containers for the plant rooms, most commonly to house biomass boilers. Bespoke features include side extensions, sliding roof for fuel delivery and storage, and a top box.
