Quarry Bank Container Conversion Community Centre
Our skilled team created this community centre for the Quarry Bank Community Project. The organisation requested a new metal work/woodwork workshop as part of their Men in Sheds project. The centre already has a large allotment and outdoor recreation area where they host different community events such as festivals and crafts fairs, and get retired men in particular to come down and get involved in different social activities. This container conversion community centre needed to be extra wide, therefore we used two 20ft second hand containers and removed two of the long sides to create a 20ft x 16ft area. Our team went to site to assemble the two containers, which involved bolting the two units together, installing the rest of the ply lining interior on site, adding on the PVC Top Hat to the seam of the two containers at the top, and flash banding the edges to completely seal the unit. This was then touched up with paint to blend in. The customer has since added their own cladding to the exterior of the container as part of their Planning Permission requirements, which blends in beautifully with the surrounding area.
We regularly join up shipping containers width ways to overcome the restrictive nature of the standard 8ft width of containers. We can join up as many containers our clients require to give the desired width. For this garage conversion we joined three 20ft containers for a 24ft width.

- Testimonial from Dave Ord, Quarry Bank Community Association - "Fast, factual and efficient response to my initial enquiry. Supportive with the length of time it has taken for us to secure grant funding, then have to go through the planning application process and still honoured the original quote. A top class service which I would definitely use again on other projects that I am involved in and would highly recommend Containers Direct to others"
