Camlan Shipping Container Garden Centre Shop
Our client, the Camlan Garden Centre, located within the boundaries of Snowdonia National Park, required a 40ft container converted for use as a shop on their site. As an area of natural beauty, and classed as a Greenfield site, they had rigorous planning permission conditions to satisfy, therefore the shipping container garden centre shop had to visually “blend in” with the rural surroundings. We were able to do this by timber cladding the entire container in Siberian Larch cladding and fitting a green, sloping roof. For functionality, we fitted 8ft wide bi-folding doors in the side, with container style doors (clad inside and out) fitted over the doors for security when the site is closed for the day.
Camlan are one of our regular clients, and so we have worked on a number of projects for their site, including The Farm Shop, which sells local produce and specialty foods. The 20ft container used for the project was again cladded in Siberian Larch, to match the Garden Centre shop. Cladding is an excellent way to “disguise” your container, if a metal box is not in keeping with the overall aesthetic of your site. Schools, playing fields, rural and Greenfield sites are key candidates for cladded containers. See our large double garage cladded conversion now residing in the beautiful rural village of Beckington Mill, Somerset. We offer three standard options of wood for cladding, however we can source alternative timber if you have specific planning permission requirements.
