Shipping Container Exhibition Stands
Our client Checkland Kindleysides, a high-end design company, had been approached by Skullcandy with a brief to design shipping container exhibition stands for the largest tech and electronics trade show in Europe, IFA 2019 in Berlin. They required a design with a unique style, meeting rooms, hospitality, experience space and product display. There was a desire to re-use/upcycle previously used items.
The brief for the shipping container exhibition stands was met with the main stand space being dominated by two re-purposed shipping containers. These were shortened and modified to create the spaces the client requested in the brief. The use of simple, readily available materials to clad and deck the containers and remaining stand space, gives the stand a crafted, familiar feel with a lot of texture and feeling.
The containers were stacked at 90 degrees on top of each other to make two meeting spaces and an experience space. The overall height created additional drama to dominate the space. We also included a pivoting door of a round 6 meters long with a fully illuminated graphic to one side this helps create the two spaces within the container and creates some drama.
By all accounts the stand was very well received! For other shipping container exhibition stands see the small but powerful Hilti box and Jet2 Holidays the fun and quirky “party plane”.
